Taiwan to Build 40,000-Job Technology Park in Poland

Taiwan plans to build a technology park in Miekinia near Wroclaw, Poland, according to a report by Gazeta Wroclawska. The technology city will feature factories, research centers, schools, and health clinics, providing up to 40,000 jobs.

Foreign investors are asking Polish government and local authorities for concessions regarding construction and plant operations. Taiwanese representatives requested specific terms for land acquisition, grant programs, and temporary worker hiring mechanisms.

Investor terms and timeline

Polish Deputy Minister of Development and Technology Michal Jarosz said regulations were prepared to expedite stay legalisation for engineers and specialists from the East. He added that such requests also arise in other foreign investment projects.

Poland and Taiwan are preparing a memorandum of understanding to define cooperation conditions. Jarosz said electrical and electronic industry group TEEMA will publish official investment financing details in mid-November, with Taiwanese investors expecting a project launch within 20 to 24 months of signing.

Ukrainian news agency UNIAN previously reported that searching for employment in Poland has become more difficult.
