After The Batmanplace at The Penguin
After the great success of The Batman by Matt Reeves, is a new chapter in the on-screen Batman story that opens. And so a new universe to explore. Even before the film’s March 2022 release, Warner Bros. announced in September 2021 that two spin-off series were in development, including one focusing on the character of the Penguin, one of the Dark Knight’s iconic adversaries. Produced by Matt Reeves and Dylan Clark, with Colin Farrell in the title role, the first two episodes of the series will be directed by Craig Zobel.
And at the presentation of future HBO Max programs this Wednesday, April 12, Warner Bros. Discovery presented the first images of the series The Penguin (video at the beginning of the article).
The Rise of Oswald Chesterfield Cobblepot
The events of the series The Penguin will happen immediately after those of The Batman. They will show how Oswald Chesterfield Cobblepot goes from being a mid-level underworld boss to one of Gotham City’s most feared criminals, and becomes the famous “Penguin”. Bruce Wayne / Batman will therefore not be in the game, since obviously the one who will become the Penguin will first have to deal with other opponents.
The video mixes images from the series and images from his filming. In the dark and anxious shadows loved by Matt Reeves, in perfect continuity with the artistic direction of The Batman, The Penguin thus serves as the second chapter of the story opened by the film with Robert Pattinson. We can’t wait to see Colin Farrell further explore the character of him, which was already one of the biggest hits of Matt Reeves’ film.
