Energy wash: a morning yoga workout, which relieves swelling

There are many exercises for morning puffiness – but many of them have a number of serious contraindications that few people know about. In comparison with them, the yoga energy wash is suitable for everyone. And it’s also a lot of fun to do!

Usually the fight against edema goes in three directions. First of all, you should try to drink less water at night and not eat salty foods. Secondly, you should use beauty products that improve microcirculation: for example, cooling patches and massagers. And thirdly, in the morning it is worth doing special exercises that have a lymphatic drainage effect.

What are these exercises? Someone shakes their arms and legs in the “cockroach” pose or warms up in the morning on a roller for the MFR. Many women get rid of swelling with a hundred quick jumps. It’s a really powerful practice – but here we’ve explained why it can only harm your body.

Also, let’s be honest: many of us are just too lazy to start our mornings with active exercise. If you are not afraid to admit it, but also want to get rid of edema, it is best to try an easy “energy wash” yoga practice.

The “energy wash” is the beginning of most complexes for yoga. We will not go into the spiritual significance of the practice, but immediately move on to the actual effect. “Washing” in a few minutes warms up the muscles, improves blood circulation in the body and prepares the body for more serious stress. And at the same time eliminates swelling.

The energy wash is based on light strokes of the face and body with your own hands. It is this movement that improves metabolic processes – no worse than jumps and other jerks.

How to do an edema energy wash

  • Stand up straight and start gently stroking your face from forehead to chin

  • Now change direction – smooth face horizontally from nose to ears

  • Rub your earlobes

  • Gently stroke the neck and décolleté, from top to bottom

  • Now place one hand on your chest and the other on your stomach and stroke in a circular motion.

  • With your left hand, stroke the entire area of the right hand – from the shoulder to the wrist. Repeat on the other side

  • Let’s go to the hands. Warm your hands by rubbing them as if you were washing your hands with soap

  • Bend forward and carefully iron your legs to both sides. From the front, straighten the legs from bottom to top, and from the back – from top to bottom

  • In the end, pay attention to the back area. In circular movements from the center to the sides, stroke the kidney area, then massage the lower back with up and down movements.

It will take 20-30 seconds to treat each area – and five minutes in total. Starting the morning with a relaxing meditation practice is much easier than strenuous cardio exercises. So try doing an energy wash the next morning!
