‘TV Top 5’: The latest from JJ Abrams, ‘Survivor’ and ‘Stranger Things’

Welcome to Episode 171 TV’s top 5, the hollywood reportertelevision podcast.

hosts every sunday Leslie Goldberg (West Coast Television Publisher) and Daniel Feinberg (Chief TV Critic) Distribute the latest TV news in the context of business and critical parties, greet viewers, executives and other guests, and provide critical guidance on what to watch (or skip).

This week, Dan and I dedicated the entire episode, except of course the Critics Corner segment, answering listeners’ questions as part of our semi-regular mailing.

This is how the episode unfolds:

1. Titles

We hit the next part of the TV schedule by filming, so the news cycle was relatively slow this week. The biggest headline came last Friday about the departure of the four main actors. Live broadcast on Saturday night. Plus, Jodie Foster Travels to HBO and More Brooch.

2. Mailbox, Part 1

In the first part of our mailbox episode, we discussed the state of abortion on television (you see, young sheldon), which brands are emerging from the streaming wars, indicating they may have lost during the Emmy meltdown in May, and what’s next for Kerry Russell, Josh Holloway and Jennifer Garner.

3. Mailbox, Part 2

The second part of our Mailbag issue takes a look at the plight of a bad robot on TV amid news that the CEO of Warner Bros. Discovery’s David Zaslav is not happy with the company’s $250 million deal for the lack of supply with Bad Robot and is considering nine and nine more questionable. Calculate total operations.

4. Mailbox, Part 3

The third segment of this week’s mailbox sees Dan exploring key elements of reality television, including the last few seasons. Survivor, best chef And more.

5. Angle of Criticism

As usual, let’s take a look at what we might see (or miss) this weekend. This week weighs on Netflix strange thing FX/Hulu Gun And angry at the absurdity of sticking to Lucasfilm’s visionary strategy Obi van Kenobi Critics and the press. (It should be noted that the strategy means Dan was unable to review the show this week and we were unable to attend the show because we had to watch the episodes before scheduling our guests.)
