Squid Game: The Challenge, controversial reality show inspired by Round 6, will have prize of US$ 4.56 million
Squid Game: The Challengereality show inspired by Round 6, is already scheduled for release. According to deadline (via Omelet), the show arrives on Netflix in November this year – 17 months after the streaming service gave the production its go-ahead.
Just like in the Korean fiction series, there will be 456 players. The prize is US$ 4.56 million (about R$ 22.7 million) – the highest amount paid for a reality show.
Squid Game: The Challenge will be divided into ten parts. Competitors will face tests similar to those of Round 6 (except for the deaths), in addition to unprecedented challenges, assembled for the new series.
Round 6 could get a North American remake
Round 6, public success, may win a new version. According to information released by the podcast The Hot Micfrom the journalist Jeff Sneider (via ComicBook), The Netflix is producing a North American remake of the South Korean series.
Still according to Sneiderthe filmmaker David Fincher (Fight Club) is one of the names sought to produce the new series. The information has not been officially confirmed by the streaming service so far.
The second season of the original series is in the pre-production stages. As revealed by the actor Lee Jung-Jae in an interview with Ilgan Sportsfilming should start soon.
