4. Feeling that he can harm the child
Pregnancy is like baking cookies in the oven: you can’t open them until they’re golden brown. He is afraid to kick you in the stomach in a dream, to hurt a child during sex (which is impossible) and much more.
5. Understand that you can’t train “father skills”
You can learn to change the oil in a car or build a foundation, but most children’s manipulations are learned only on a ready-made child: you can put a diaper on a doll several times, but this doesn’t get you any closer to dressing a newborn. And this naturally causes internal panic.
6. He doesn’t know how to raise a daughter
Maybe it seems to him that everything is easier with his son (after all, he himself was a boy, after all), but what to do with a girl? And separately, he is afraid to say it out loud.
7. Doesn’t like to buy children’s things
It is unlikely that he will also be affected by the size of children’s socks or briefs with giraffes. And this upsets him: it seems that he is completely bankrupt.
8. Slight irritation due to your hormonal surges
Again, he can’t feel it and help you. And to the best of his ability, he tries to answer stupid requests and calm you down if you’re sobbing because of the advertisement for children’s things.
9. Fear of having a “father’s body”
That is, never going to the gym again, getting a belly fat and stuff like that (although all of that isn’t true). If he’s really scared of it, try letting him go to the rocking chair (preferably in exchange for him letting go of you later!).
10. Worry about whatever worries you.
He won’t show it, but he will suffer just the same from every untimely sneeze. At the same time, if you are upset, he must somehow support you, so you must be torn.
