Barbie : the famous doll arrives in the real world

Director of ladybug AND Dr. March’s daughtersGreta Gerwig is now coping the most famous doll in the worldmarketed by Mattel since 1959. Comedy co-written with Noah Baumbach (Francesca Ha, Marriage history), the feature film seems to start in the idyllic world of Barbieland, where Barbie (Margot Robbie) and her friends Barbie (Dua Lipa), Barbie (Emma Mackey), Barbie (Nicola Coughlan) or even Barbie (Issa Rae) enjoy the beautiful time and come together to create captivating choreographies.

When she realizes she can no longer levitate and has flat feet, Barbie visits Barbie (Kate McKinnon) to find out what’s going on with her. Barbie then advises Barbie to go to the real world. After taking a long journey alongside Ken (Ryan Gosling), comes the heroine a much crueler universe and much less bright. A world where problems cannot be solved with a snap of fingers and where the police exist.

Margot Robbie’s one condition

Given the film’s delusional trailers, Margot Robbie has evidently found herself a new role to match his talent with Barbie. Passing through the Kelly Clarkson showMargot Robbie assured that she did not hesitate to participate in Greta Gerwig’s feature film, declaring to the director right from the start that she would follow “her vision”, but on one condition.

The actress explained on the talk show that she asked the director:

Please please please could we have a dreamhouse where you have a slide that goes from your bedroom to your pool? Because this is my goal in life.

An improbable but coherent wish given that nothing is impossible in Barbieland, and that Greta Gerwig has fulfilled. Barbie it is to be discovered in cinemas from July 19, 2023.
