Barbie arrives in the real world
The theatrical release of Barbie is closing in and Warner Bros. goes into overdrive on the promotion from the film by Greta Gerwig. After causing a sensation thanks to the French poster, the production launched into an original and intelligent partnership with Airbnb. Indeed it is Barbie’s house which was reproduced full size in the middle of Malibu in the United States. Which goes in the direction of the film, which will see the heroine leave BarbieLand with Ken and discover the real world.
Entirely painted in pink, the house does not go unnoticed, as can be seen above the video below. The house was first spotted by accident. Then, Expiration confirmed that it was indeed a great marketing gimmick by Warner Bros. for the film’s release
The reproduction of the premises wants to be faithful to the famous dollhouse originally imagined by Mattel. With a disco hall with skates, a slide that leads directly to the pool, a gym, etc. Small important detail, however, Barbie is not the guest of the house. It was Ken, who therefore left some of his belongings there (including a motorbike on the terrace).
A press release explains it “Ken invites two lucky people to stay at the DreamHouse from Malibu recently remodeled to all its glory. While Barbie is away, and by popular demand, Ken rents out his room in Malibu’s iconic dream house on Airbnb and brings Barbie’s pink world back to life.”

It’s not the first time that the Barbie house has been replicated in full size. Already in 2019 Airbnb had offered to stay overnight on the occasion of the famous doll’s 60th anniversary. Places were available for a limited time and up to $60 a night. For this new operation bookings will start on July 17th. It will be possible to make two one-night stays for two people. The reservation will be made directly on the siteAirbnb.
As for the film ported by Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling, it will be discovered on July 19 in French cinemas.
