TikTok is launching a subscription comedy series hosted by creator Jericho Menke, streamed exclusively on the company’s live video platform.
In the television series, find Jericho, Menke will feature comedic interviews with many characters, including a Craigslist clown, while exploring a wide range of topics including laughter, hobbies and self-confidence. The show is produced by Pearpop, a content creator and collaboration platform co-founded by Cole Mason, Spencer Markel and Guy Ozer. Pearpop executives Zack Bernstein and Austin Sokol, as well as Menke, are executive producers.
After the premiere of the first episode on June 2 at 9 PM PT, the next episodes of the series will be released on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 9 PM PT on @Jercho1 and @pearpopofficial TikTok. The full series, which consists of eight 30-minute episodes, will cost $4.99 to watch, though the first two episodes are free for all TikTok users.
The subscription series comes after TikTok launched a monthly subscription tool for select creators with over 1,000 followers, giving their paying fans perks like subscriber badges, custom emotes, and a subscriber-only chat. The feature follows similar subscription offers from social platforms like Instagram and Twitter.
“We are excited about TikTok at this stage of the launch of our first digital series for Pearpop and what it will bring to the brand. “I am very excited about the first comedy documentary of its kind and proud to show the world what Jericho and Pirpop have created together,” Pearpop CEO Mason said in a statement.
