Consent : a teenager under the influence of a predator

In 2020, publisher Vanessa Springora unveils her first book, Consent, published by Grasset editions. In this book, he tells the influence writer Gabriel Matzneff had on her from the age of 14when he was 50 years old. In 1975, in Under sixteen, the writer claims his sexual attraction to children, “young” in his words, “boyfriends” who prefers “to choose between disunited and chaotic families”. Raised by her mother, Vanessa Springora is one of his victims.

Three years after its publication, which has contributed to bringing pedophilia back to the center of public debate in France, Vanessa Filho (Angel Face) is about to release its adaptation of Consent. A second feature for the director, in which Kim Higelin lends his features to Vanessa and Jean-Paul Rouve to Gabriel Matzneff. Laetitia Casta and Élodie Bouchez complete the cast.

The film is revealed through a chilling trailer, in which the writer claims, among other things, that the teenager is his “last love”. From the very first images where he manages to arouse the admiration of the young woman, who fall into his trap.
