The Rock reveals ‘biggest lessons’ he learned from late father

Rocky Johnson was a huge inspiration for The Rock to start working out and get into wrestling

Long before being one of the biggest stars of hollywood, dwayne The Rock Johnson began his entertainment career in wrestling, much inspired by his father, rocky johnsonwho died aged 75 on January 15, 2020.

In a video posted on Instagram, The Rock went to celebrate what would be his father’s 79th birthday last Thursday, the 24th, and revealed how many followers ask questions about Rocky. Including, one of these questions was about the “greatest lesson my father taught me.”

“My father taught me that ‘respect is given when it’s earned, so go out there and earn it.’ In fact, he would say ‘so go out there and win.’ He made sure I was in the gym, even at 5 years old he was kicking me on the wrestling mats.”

Right away, The Rock explained how he feels that respect must continue to be earned throughout life before sharing another lesson from his father, which was about concern for resolving conflicts with loved ones.

You can be mad for a day, two days, but really what you want to do is get in there and take care of it.

“I thought about him every day and I was conflicted because he was my dad and I kept saying, ‘Okay, I need to call him. I need to call him,’ and then he passed away all of a sudden,” he lamented. “I missed that chance. And now, of course, I have to live with that every day because I think about him every day and I’m like, ‘Damn, I should have made a different decision.’ So he inadvertently taught me that lesson.”

Finally, in the caption The Rock took the opportunity to expand on this thought: “When you’re face to face, there’s nothing you can’t solve and take care of.”
