And what 66-5 ?
Created by Anne Landois (Gears)with the collaboration of Audrey Fouché (Osmosis), 66-5 is a new original creation by Canal+. The series takes its name from article 66-5 of the law of 31 December 1971: “In any case, (…) the advice sent by a lawyer to his client or intended for him, the correspondence exchanged between the client and his lawyer, (…) and, more generally, all the documents in the file are covered by professional secrecy“.
It is therefore in the judicial universe that this new show that is characterized is located Roxane, a young lawyer who works inside a prestigious Parisian company. But when her husband, also a partner in the company, is accused of rape, Roxane’s life is turned upside down. If her feelings for her husband take over, she gradually loses trust in him.

At the same time, she is led to return to the city of her childhood, in Bobigny, for a family affair. The opportunity for her to reunite with a long-time friend and help defend her partner, a local delinquent. What was supposed to be an exceptional help will become so a new vocation for the criminal lawyer who will agree to defend other cases in his hometown where trafficking and violence are legion.
Alice Isaaz carries the series forward brilliantly
With 66-5Canal+ thus dives into the legal world, but above all does not forget to offer an exciting show for its spectators. Despite being realistic, the work remains pure fiction that highlights current issues. The question of the suburbs is present, the judgment of one and the other, but the return to the sources and the place of women in society. All led by a complex characterRoxane, as Anne Landois explains in the press kit for the series.
She has convictions, ethics, at the same time she knows how to be opportunistic, careerist, superficial in her reactions… In her I also saw the opportunity to explore the traumas of childhood and adolescence, the origin of her journey and his decisions.
A strong heroine carried perfectly by Alice Isaac. The actress is excellent in 66-5, right when he appears in court as during his confrontations with young people from the suburbs. She thus manages to bring a form of humor thanks to her confidence and her way of putting everyone in their place.

To prepare for the role, and convinced that she could be credible, Alice Isaaz immediately participated in the appearances at the Bobigny court and discovered young magistrates there. This did not prevent the filming from being intense for her, who for the first time plays such an important role in a series:
This shoot was a great test of endurance… I also had to rely on what the other actors (many with all supporting roles) offered me. Dealing with such a diverse range of games on a daily basis was another challenge to overcome.
On the casting and creation of the Canal+ series
In addition to Alice Isaaz, the production presents many women. On the creation, but also on the direction with Danielle Arbid, who directed the first four episodes, and Keren Ben Rafael, responsible for the next four.
In front of the camera, Nailia Harzoune she also makes an impression in the role of Yasmine, Roxane’s best friend, while Judge Bokobza of the Bobigny court, played by Rani Bheemuck, also evokes the relationship with men in this environment made up partly of aggressive lawyers. A female dominant therefore for 66-5which Alice Isaaz particularly appreciated.
The series is based on a real paradox: its heroine evolves in a very male environment, while I was, so to speak, surrounded only by women during this creation. Obviously I used this dynamic.
66-5 does not, however, prevent the existence of male characters, such as Bilal, solidly played by Raphaël Acloque. And if we might have feared that the series would sink into clichés of all kinds, in reality it finds the right balance to fascinate with its intrigue while having a modern approach.
66-5 you can discover it on Canal+ from 18 September.
