One of the most acclaimed series today, The bear captivated audiences with its chaotic (and surprisingly accurate) depictions of Chicago’s foodie kitchens and the reconnection of Carmen Berzatto (Jeremy Allen White) with its roots, without abandoning the elegance of the best restaurants around the world.

Created by Christopher Storerthe second season, released in Brazil in August by Star+, is definitely a love letter to Chicago food. In a delightful tour of the city and its suburbs, the series shows several important points, as well as renowned chefs and restaurant owners

Below, check out all the real restaurants that appear in the second season of The bear:

Kasama

In the third episode, Sydney (Ayo Edebiri) goes on a gastronomic tour of Chicago in search of inspiration for the restaurant’s new menu. Your first stop is the popular Filipino bakery and restaurant Kasamawhere she orders her famous breakfast sandwich with longaniza, hash browns, mushroom adobo, mango pie, and matcha latte.

The James Beard Award-winning restaurant (and the first Filipino spot to earn a Michelin star) is run by husband and wife chefs Tim Flores It is Genie Kwon and is located in the Ukraine Village neighborhood of Chicago.

Lao Peng You

Sydney’s Chicago food tour takes her to the famous Ukrainian village restaurant, Lao Peng You to eat Cong You Bing, a type of scallion pancake. Known for its homemade noodles and dumplings, the restaurant is run by two brothers, Daniel It is Eric Watwho also make cameo appearances throughout the episode.

Publican and Publican Quality Meats

O Publican and the Publican Quality Meats are among the restaurants that Sydney visit in episode 3. Both restaurants are located in Fulton Market, Chicago and have their menu curated by chef Paul Kahan.

While the The Publican has a menu focused on seafood and pork, the Publican Quality Meats is an American cafe that offers cold cuts, pastries and sandwiches.

Margie’s Candies

During his trip through Chicago in the 3rd episode, Sydney also to have a dessert at Margie’s Candies, a popular bakery in the Windy City. Located in Bucktown, north of Chicago, and famous for its gigantic sundaes served in scoop-style dishes, Margie’s has been selling ice cream, shakes and sweets for more than 100 years.

Elske

At the end of episode three, Sydney spend time in a different kitchen to work on some new dishes. This place is actually Elskethe chef’s one-star Michelin restaurant David Poseywho makes a brief appearance.

Ever

In the seventh episode, Richie (Ebon Moss-Bachrach) visits a fictional luxury restaurant to discover the essence of hospitality. The real-life restaurant used for filming is the Evera renowned two-Michelin-starred venue operated by chef Chris Duffy and his longtime collaborator Michael Muser.

Much of the experience portrayed was true to life, including the interior of the restaurant and kitchen, the top-notch service, and even one of the food dishes.

Furthermore, the scenes Marcus (Lionel Boyce) perfecting her dessert skills in Copenhagen were filmed at Afterthe cocktail lounge of Ever.

Pequod’s

In the seventh episode, while Richie is working, he goes out to get a deep-dish pizza at the request of a customer. He ends up at one of Chicago’s most popular pizzerias, Pequod’s Pizza, famous for its famous deep dish pies.

Wolf Pizza

In another pizza message, Syd enjoy a thin slice of pepperoni from Pizza Lobo’s.

Pizza Lobo is one of Chicago’s most popular pizzerias, serving specialty New York-inspired thin-crust pizzas, a variety of pies including to-go slices available at the restaurant window, as well as craft beers. Dan Snowden, Matt Eisler It is Kevin Heisner are the brains behind the pizzeria.


Avec

Arguably the most famous restaurant Sydney visits in the episode is Avec, located in Chicago’s West Loop neighborhood. It is a Michelin-starred restaurant known primarily for its infusion of Mediterranean flavors into classic and innovative modern recipes.

Donnie Madiaone of the main faces of One Off Hospitality and former employee of the real Mr. Beef, makes a cameo in the third episode giving advice to Sydney at Avec.
