A slasher which reeks of blood and irony has just entered the Netflix catalogue. Title Seminarylooks like this: while the municipal employees are in seminary in the Swedish countryside, tensions and accusations of corruption will emerge among them, before a masked killer and very scary comes to slaughter them one by one.
Directed by Patrik Eklund and adapted from the novel by Mats Strandbergs, Seminary he takes communicative pleasure in killing his characters with a lot of imagination and a variety of weapons that are very useful to the show: stove, boat engine propeller, wolf trap, scythe… Director explained in February 2023with passion and humor:

A funny and bloody satire
Very violent horror comedy, Seminary compose with constant humor and some hilarious dialogues between the different characters, to offer a very entertaining critique of the world of business and capitalism. A perfect film for fans of the excellent Separation by Christopher Smith published in 2006, e Hunting in 2020 by Craig Zobel, unfortunately went unnoticed. And we would also find in these images an air of Without filter in this violence inflicted on characters who are overwhelmingly poisoned by greed.
One day after the online publication, Seminary collect a 90% tomato and an audience score of 84%. RogerEbert.com gives it three stars, highlighting the overall success of the film despite a rather long preparation.
The cast of Seminary is composed in particular by Katia Winter (NCIS), Adam Lundgren,(Chernobyl) Cecilia Nilsson (Wallander) and Christoffer Nordenrot. It has been available on Netflix ever since October 13, 2023.
