Deadpool 3 : a highly anticipated film
Since his announcement there has been some real excitement going around Deadpool 3. Not necessarily because it will be the third adventure of the craziest superhero in the Marvel universe. But since Wade Wilson (the “hero”) will finally be accompanied by another mythical character: Wolverine, played once again by Hugh Jackman. Even if their paths had already crossed The origins of X-Men: WolverineWade Wilson made this clear with the post-credits scene of Deadpool 2 that we should forget this movie. Their meeting therefore promises to be as fun and unusual as it is explosive.

At the helm of this new film is Shawn Levywhich Ryan Reynolds recently directed Free boy. Which promises a good dose of humor and meta winks, as already happened Free boy. Furthermore, the director recently spoke about his wish pay homage to Star Wars. For this, the director intends to reproduce an important scene from the saga created by George Lucas.
A tribute to the legendary confrontation between Luke and Vader
As he explained to SquireShaw Levy was greatly affected by the ending of Return of the Jedi. Specifically the moment Darth Vader discovers that Luke has a twin sister (Leia). The Sith Lord then says that if Luke doesn’t join the dark side, perhaps she will. Which causes the anger and rage of young Skywalker, who comes out of hiding to attack Vader.
Shaw Levy first described this scene before sharing his experience:
There was dead silence (at the cinema). Absolute silence. Suddenly, Vader pressed the wrong button. Luke comes screaming out of the shadows and engages in a lightsaber battle with Vader. What I felt: the forty seconds of the audience’s immobility, then the spectacle and the emotion. This moment is etched not only in my eyes, but in my heart.
The filmmaker went on to specify for a key scene in Deadpool 3he asked his teams to create “a Jedi moment.”
I put that scene between Vader and Luke on my phone and re-studied the way it was shot, the framing, the pacing. The die-hard Star Wars fan will see in Deadpool a shot inspired by that moment I saw in the cinema decades ago. It’s an unforgettable memory. And it’s a treasure.
If he remained faithful to the original scene, Shaw Levy would then have to include his own film an important part of emotions, beyond the expected comical aspect. In any case, it’s fun to know Deadpool 3 will have this reference to Star Wars. Because Shaw Levy was hired to then direct a movie Star Warswhich is still relevant today.
