Avengers: The Kang Dynasty reinvented by Marvel
It’s time for a big cleanup for Marvel. The stable that hosts superheroes is not exactly having a good year due to the repeated failures of its productions Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumaniaseries Secret invasion and more recently The wonders.
Added to this are the legal problems of its actor, Jonathan Majors, chosen to be the figure of the Marvel revival. The American actor took his first steps in cinema as Kang, in Ant-Man 3, at the beginning of the year. But the man who was supposed to play Thanos’ successor in Phase 6 of the MCU finds himself embroiled in a domestic violence case whose trial will begin at the end of the month.
Suffice it to say that Kevin Feige and his teams are trying in every way to restore the brand’s image. And that involves a large-scale project behind the scenes.
Avengers: The Kang Dynasty loses its director
Daniel Destin Cretton had been on the job for a year Avengers: The Kang Dynasty. But today we learn from Expiration that the director left the ship amicably. Last spring, it was the screenwriter, Jeff Loveness, who was removed from the project due to the film’s poor reception Ant-Man 3.
Furthermore, Marvel is even considering the possibility of ousting Kang from his project to avoid any scandal. A change that has already begun in the season of Loki where the future big bad of the MCU would be erased from history.
Despite all this chaos, Daniel Destin Cretton remains firmly rooted at Marvel. It is announced that the director will be able to make the sequel Shang Chi. Then, also tackle the series The Wonder Man which will appear on Disney+ under the Marvel Spotlight banner, intended to accommodate series that are not part of the MCU.
Avengers: Kang Dynasty is still scheduled for April 2026 in theaters.
