Rebel Moon is a hit on Netflix
It was one of the most anticipated films on Netflix at the end of the year: Rebel Moon: daughter of firethe first part of Zack Snyder’s new feature film, is available from December 22nd, and is already on the rise at the top of the most watched films on the platform. After The army of the dead in 2021 the director’s platform with the red logo is therefore back Guardians gave free rein to his overflowing imagination.
In this first part of this space opera, we meet Kora, a former warrior of a galactic empire led by a tyrannical emperor, who found a haven of peace in a peaceful colony inhabited by farmers. But this tranquility is disturbed when a despotic general arrives to plunder the crops and attack the inhabitants. Kora then decides to lead a revolt with the help of some inhabitants, and they go looking for rebels on nearby planets, to oppose the oppression.
This casting amuses Game of Thrones fans
The cast of Rebel Moon: daughter of fire is led by Sofia Boutella, who plays the warrior Kora. Around her we find in particular Ed Skrein, who plays the tyrannical general, and Michiel Huisman, who plays her ally Gunnar. For fans of game of Thronesthese two actors together are a fun nod to the series, because they both played the same role, that of Daario Naharis, Daenerys Targaryen’s ally, in seasons 3, 4, 5 and 6.
Ed Skrein played the character in his first three appearances, then was replaced by Michiel Huisman for the remainder of the series. The reason given was a scheduling conflict, but Ed Skrein refuted this reason and felt it was purely “political”.
We will find the two actors in part 2 of Rebel moon titled The Slasher, which arrives April 19 on Netflix. And the first images are already available.
