Double trapa series full of twists and turns

Harlan Coben fans were not disappointed by the series Double trap, put online on January 1, 2024. Since its premiere, the show has announced itself as a thriller full of mysteries and twists. The story begins with Maya, of whom her husband has just been murdered. In the worst moment after this tragedy, she discovers to her shock that her husband, Joe, appears alive and well in the camera footage. Then you will carry out your investigations.

Added to this is Maya’s stepmother, Judith Burkett, who with her rich and powerful family seems to hide a dark past.

Spectators, of course, rushed Double trap at the time of its release and was therefore fascinated by the eight episodes. And obviously, the last chapter had more in store for them one last turning point which makes you see the whole series from another angle.

How does the Netflix series end?

In fact, in the grand finale, Maya goes to the Burketts to confront them. She confronts Judith and asks her why she suspected Maya of killing Joe. Then she herself explains the reason: because she had a reason. She then goes on to reveal that she found out her husband was her sister Claire’s killer. The latter had become a threat to the Burkett family by investigating them, and Joe did not hesitate to get rid of her. But in addition to Claire, the man had also killed her high school friend, Theo Mora, and his brother, Andrew. Two crimes that Maya didn’t know about beforehand whenshe decided to kill her husband.

Despite everything, he reveals the truth in front of Judith and her children. But when his mother-in-law offers him a deal, to dump everything on Joe’s shoulders to avoid a scandal, Neil grabs Maya’s gun and shoots her. He kills him at point blank range with three bullets to the stomach. Except Maya had what was waiting for her as she had specially placed a camera that revealed her death live to the entire world.

A long and difficult final scene to shoot

This final sequence was therefore a big surprise, between the revelations and the death of the heroine. An almost scene ten minutes which was complicated to shoot. This is what the actresses revealed Michelle Keegan and Joanna Lumley in an interview given to Meter. Judith’s portrayer goes so far as to describe this filming as a unique experience in her career, due to the length of the script.

(The final scene) was 14 pages, which is unheard of. Usually, when you’re given the call sheet, (a scene) is one (page) and two-thirds, or two (pages) and a quarter or three-quarters. But there was much more. And there were also many actors. There were many of us in a huge room, so it was a very, very detailed job.

This passage of Double trap it does not, however, seem that complex to viewers. But as Michelle Keegan points out, it was necessary lots of shots and it had to be shot in one take.

We did it again and again. Normally you cut a good portion of such an important scene, but we couldn’t stop. This scene had to be played in chronological order for it to make sense, for us to reach the emotional peak where we needed to be.

Ultimately, deciding to shoot this way, the artists and technicians had to do it exceed their hours initials for overtime: “They asked us if we were ready to “break” our contract to shoot at night“.
