The script for one of the most memorable episodes of ‘Friends’ was found by an employee at the series’ studios

An employee of the Fountain Studios found the final drafts of the iconic episode of Friends in which Ross (David Schwimmer) — at the altar, with Emily (Helen Baxendale) — calls his fiancée Rachel (Jennifer Aniston). The studios, located in Wembley, England, recreated the chapel where the wedding took place. The worker, however, decided to get rid of the script, which was auctioned off by Hanson Ross.

The identity of the employee and the new owner of the script were not revealed. The script was auctioned for US$28,000. “The global interest was impressive”, declared the head of operations at Hanson Ross. He has sold other important items, such as Christmas cards autographed by Princess Dianaphotographs signed by Queen Elizabeth II, Frank Sinatra or Charles Chaplinand one of the first 500 printed copies of the first book of Harry Potter.

It is also unknown who threw the script in the trash, but the auction house believes the document was thrown away by someone in the cast or someone who worked on the series. More than 200 people tried to take the script home, which had an estimated selling price of between 600 and 800 pounds. According to the BBC (via El País), the best bid was from “an international online buyer”.
