When evil lurks: what is this horror film?
Expected in French cinemas on April 17th When evil is lurking takes place in a remote village and follows two brothers who find a man infected with a demon, about to give birth to evil in person. So they decide to get rid of it.
For fans of genre films, Argentine director Demián Rugna has already given viewers chills in 2018 with his film Aterados (Terrified), which was available on Netflix (it is no longer available today). The film recounted an investigation that took place in Buenos Aires after the morbid discovery of the decomposing corpse of a child sitting at the kitchen table, as if he were still alive.
Featured in numerous festivals around the world (including the Toronto International Film Festival last September, or the Paris International Fantastic Film Festival), When evil is lurking it is also available in the United States on the Shudder platform since October. It quickly built a small reputation among genre film fans.
Online criticism is unanimous: the film has a rating of 75% positive reviews Metacriticand from 97% onwards Rotten tomatoes.
