Netflix: new films online from 5 to 11 February
Whoever says new week on Netflix says new film arrivals! Nothing particularly exciting to get your teeth into, though, with only two new features that some people will still like. The classic The devil wears Prada with Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway will be available from February 7th.
The opportunity to delve deeper into Andy’s story with pleasure, an aspiring journalist, who finds herself assistant to Miranda Priestly, the terrible editor-in-chief of Runway magazine, who makes her see all sorts of things. The film released in 2006 is also an opportunity to (re)discover Emily Blunt in one of her first appearances.
This week’s big new movie is due online on February 9thArmageddon time, the latest film by James Gray presented in official competition at the 2022 Cannes Film Festival. Brought forward by Anthony Hopkins, Jeremy Strong and Anne Hathaway, the feature film tells the very personal story of a boy from Queens coming of age in the 1990s 80, dealing with the problems of the time. A very autobiographical film for its director.
Other arrivals include the Turkish film Ashes (The ashes) on February 9, which follows the story of a wealthy married woman whose life is turned upside down after the discovery of a novel, which drags her into an intoxicating fantasy. Also on February 9, Netflix will also upload the Indian film Bhakshak: Injustice in the face. An investigation conducted by a journalist into the complicity of the authorities in abominable crimes committed inside a home for girls.
New series from 5 to 11 February
The big new series of the week is the arrival of A killer paradox on February 9th. In the vein of death Notethis Korean series follows an ordinary man, who becomes a serial killer, and attacks other criminals. A relentless police officer will try everything to stop him, but the face-to-face encounter promises to be sneaky.
Another new series that might spark excitement: One daysecond David Nicholls’ bestseller, already adapted into a film in 2011, starring Anne Hathaway and Jim Sturgess. The story follows Emma and Dexter, two students who spend a night together after the graduation party, but they decide not to be together. Over the years, however, their lives will remain closely linked. The episodes will be available on February 8th.
From a documentary point of view, the series Rael: the prophet of extraterrestrials will be available on February 7th and Lover, Stalker, Killer: the extreme ex, a new documentary series about a true story, arrives on February 9th. The latter could very well spark the buzz, as The Tinder scammer he had done so in 2022.
