Berlinthe prequel to The Paper House
After the triumph of The Paper HouseNetflix has decided to propose a new story set in the universe of the series with the spin-off Berlin. As indicated by his name, this prequel is this time focused on the character played by Pedro Alonso. We follow the thief as he recruits a team to prepare a robbery in Paris. Its purpose is steal 44 million euros of jewels in a single night.
The first episodes of Berlin were revealed on December 29 on Netflix. In line with The Paper House, the series received a very warm reception by the platform’s subscribers. As reported Variety, was the most-watched Netflix show the week of its release and has since amassed approximately 53 million views. And now the ninth most watched non-English language series in Netflix history.
A second chapter for the show
After the good reception given to the first episodes of Berlin, Netflix has decided to ride the wave. Less than two months after the release of the first season, the series was thus officially renewed for a second chapter. We will therefore be able to continue following the adventures of the character played by Pedro Alonso and his friends, who will always be there.
In addition to Alonso, Michelle Jenner will return to the role of Keila in the second season of Berlin. Tristán Ulloa, Begoña Vargas, Julio Peña Fernández and Joel Sánchez will also play Damián, Cameron, Roi and Bruce respectively.
Filming is scheduled for next year
The universe of The Paper House will therefore continue to expand. We remind you that, in addition to the flagship series launched in 2017, a Korean remake entitled is also available Money Heist: Korea – Joint Economic Area has already seen the light. We still don’t know if this remake will have the right to a second chapter.
Anyway, filming new episodes of Berlin is scheduled for 2025. We will therefore have to wait at least until the second part of the same year to discover them.
