Venom: Let There Be Carnage, an eagerly awaited sequel
In 2021, three years after the success of the first part which grossed 850 million at the global box office, Venom returned to theaters in the sequel entitled Let there be carnage.
Directed by Andy Serkis, the film is set one year after the events of the first, further exploring the complex relationship between journalist Eddie Brock (Tom Hardy) and the alien symbiote Venom, who coexist in the same body. Introduces this second part dedicated to the Marvel antihero new antagonistsparticularly Cletus Kasady/Carnage, played by Woody Harrelson, a serial killer who becomes the host of another, more dangerous symbiote.
Originally scheduled for release in 2020, the film has been postponed several times due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Finally released in October 2021, Venom: Let there be carnage has been through an uncertain time for the film industry, with cinemas operating at reduced capacity or closed in many parts of the world.

Despite being released during an uncertain time, the film still grossed more than $500 million at the global box office, on an estimated budget of $110 million. Despite its share of negative reviews, Venom: Let there be carnage has established itself in recent days on Netflix, carving out a place for itself in the The 10 most viewed contents. As we write these lines, it is in third place among the most watched films on the platform in France, two days after its arrival.
