Trigger Point is finally back!
The British series Trigger Point had landed on CANAL+ in 2022 with a first season in six episodes that kept viewers in suspense. Recall that the film took place in the world of deminers and followed the dangerous missions of the elite unit of the London police responsible for demining. At the center of the action was Lana Washington, a former soldier who became an expert at defusing bombswho found himself at the center of a large-scale attempted attack in the British capital.
The first season not only explored the physical and technical challenges of defusing bombs, but also examined the psychological impacts of this high-risk profession. Lana, in particular, was dealing with her own demons, her military past, and the resulting traumatic memories of her.
The series has been a great success across the Channel, attracting an average of 8 million viewers for each episode. The second season, announced two years ago, began broadcasting in its home country at the end of January and will finally arrive in France this Thursday 14 March.
What will the second season be about?
Season 2 of Trigger Point is set one year after the events of the first season. We find Lana Washington as she finds herself at a crossroads in her career after spending a year training bomb squad in Estonia.
The season opens with Lana speaking at a conference on bomb disposal, a moment chosen by the terrorists to launch a daring attack against a power plant. This attack not only causes widespread chaos, but also signals the emergence of a new active terrorist threat on British soil.
Lana, finding herself in the immediate vicinity of the attack, is faced with a big dilemma: is she ready to return to duty and face this new danger? As London comes under attack again, pressure on demining teams increasesMI5 and the Counter-Terrorism Unit, all mobilized to neutralize a dangerous terrorist cell, motivated by conspiracy theories.
Season 2 of Trigger Point will be broadcast from Thursday 14 March, with two episodes per evening.
