“The Slasher” is coming
After Rebel Moon Part 1: The Child of Firereleased on December 22, 2023 on Netflix, the second part of the saga directed by Zack Snyder arrives on Netflix April 19, 2024 on the platform: Rebel Moon Part 2: The Slasher. With Sofia Boutella still in the title role, this new film promises to be even more explosive than the first, with the antagonist Atticus Noble (Ed Skrein) returning from the dead in search of revenge and suppress the revolt led by Kora (Sofia Boutella).
In his very particular style – between generosity and chaos – Zack Snyder therefore seems to have prepared himself with these new images (trailer at the top of the article) a news an orgy of fights and special effects. Here we find the performers from the first film, in particular Djimon Hounsou, Bae Doona and Michiel Huisman, as well as Anthony Hopkins who lends his voice to the robot Jimmy.

Despite the relatively long duration of this trailer (2’42), little space is left for explanations, and a lot for shots and explosions. But it’s not a big problem, since we know from the end of the first film that Kora and his warriors, who survived the final battle with Atticus Noble’s troops, will have to prepare for a decisive clash against the troops of the Mother World. From sound and furyhere is the simple program designed by the director.
Simple and efficient? This is the meaning of this second part, after the first film Rebel moon poorly received by critics. In fact, the vast majority of the latter had underlined this the too generic and casual look of the film, noting that for an “original” creation this was not distinguished by its originality. A point which, as far as we are concerned, however, did not prevent us from being entertained by the sincere spectacle of a Zack Snyder determined to have fun without obstacles.
