In these images we can see Jeong Su-in, a young woman who was hit by a car, but who does not appear to have any injuries. The reason ? A parasite that entered his body at the time of the accident. By joining her, her creature allowed her to survive, without completely taking over her body. So Jeong Su-in still has control over her, but her body will change as she will have to defend herself. Why other parasites are present on Earth and all over the world. And their intentions are not good. Jeong Su-in will therefore have to survive facing these creatures, but probably also facing the decisions of the government that intends to carry out a large-scale cleanup.
The differences with the manga
We find in front of these images an atmosphere and aesthetics similar to those of Sweet Home, another popular Korean series on Netflix and based on a webtoon. However, the fans from the manga Parasite you will have noticed the big differences compared to the original work. In this one we follow Shin’ichi Izumi, a high school student in contact with a parasite. As the creature prepares to enter his ear, the boy reacts and tries to move away, forcing the parasite to merge with only his hand. The teenager will then also have to deal with humans controlled by parasites.
The other big difference compared to the manga is that the story of Parasite: the grey will take place in Korea, and the parasite invasion will be well known to the whole world. We can therefore see this series more as a continuation of the manga. This allows the Netflix production to have a greater margin of freedom and above all to offer an original work with this creation. The result will be discovered April 5 on the streaming platform. Until then, you can check out the anime Parasite available on Netflix and Crunchyroll.
