A new project for Margot Robbie
The phenomenal success of the film Barbie seems to have given ideas to its lead actress and producer Margot Robbie. Indeed, as revealed by The Hollywood journalistthe Australian star is expected to direct the project of an adaptation of the famous video game The Sims via his production company LuckyChap, in collaboration with Electronic Arts.

Few video games have the popularity and longevity comparable to that of the franchise The Sims. This was created in 2000. It is a life simulation in which players can create avatars, with no other specific objectives other than to develop and bring their character to life in a – little by little – realistic universe.
Huge success since its creation, The Sims it’s at its fourth major release. The game now has dozens of expansions and add-ons. A very rich universe therefore. And with theoretically infinite possibilities given the enormous potential for customizing the avatars. A perfect forge for imagining the funniest and most dramatic situations.
From doll to avatars
Margot Robbie thus seems to have found the right vein by being interested in large-scale film projects related to “Marche“very powerful. Barbie it was in fact a sensational demonstration of this, with an unprecedented success at the global box office ($1.44 billion in revenue). Mattel was thrilled with the success and this time it was Electronic Arts who teamed up with Margot Robbie to bring one of her biggest hits to the screen.
According to information from The Hollywood Reporter, it is the screenwriter and director Kate Herron, best known for directing episodes of the series Sex education for Netflix and the first season of Loki for Disney+, which would currently be involved in the production of this adaptation. It will therefore be up to her to take the place of Greta Gerwig, whose authorial touch was happily linked to the commercial war machine for Barbie.
