Continuation (and end?) of a cult saga
The third part of the successful saga will be released in 2022 What have we done to the Good Lord? : What have we all done to the Good Lord? This film, again co-written and directed by Philippe de Chauveron, led notably by Christian Clavier and Chantal Lauby, follows the first two films which were combined together 19 million entries In France (12.3 for the first, 6.7 for the second).
Claude and Marie Verneuil will soon celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary. For the occasion, their four daughters, Isabelle, Odile, Ségolène and Laure, decide to organize a big surprise party in their family home in Chinon. They also decide to each invite the parents of their respective husbands, Rachid, David, Chao and Charles.
The trend was downward, inevitable given the immense performance of the What have we done to the Good Lord –and unfortunately it is confirmed for What have we all done to the Good Lord?which “only” attracts when released 2.4 million viewers. A show that would be a success for any comedy, but for this saga it is a disappointment.

The production of What have we all done to the Good Lord? it was very disturbed. Starting with the postponement of filming, caused by Covid-19. Although filming was scheduled to begin in late 2020, it was pushed back to end of March 2021. This discrepancy has an important consequence for the film’s casting. Giulia Piatonwho plays Odile, wife of David (Ary Abittan), leaves the production planning reasons. Frédérique Bel and Noom Diawara confirmed:
Due to Covid the filming schedules were turned upside down. Julia wasn’t available so we got an extra sister.
Julia Piaton is in fact filming in the same period The Committed by Émilie Frèche, and will continue shortly after with Small victories by Mélanie Auffret – is announced in the lead role in June 2021. In the absence of Julia Piaton, she is therefore the actress Alice Davide who plays Odile.
A serious road accident mourns the filming
If the casting change is still a significant event for the production of What have we all done to the Good Lord? ?, becomes perfectly anecdotal when a terrible tragedy occurs.
As soon as filming began, on 23 April 2021, during a reconnaissance in Châtellerault in the Vienne department, four technicians were victims of a serious road accident when their car was involved in a head-on collision with a vehicle coming in the opposite direction. Three technicians, aged 19, 47 and 49, died in the clash.particularly violentThe fourth passenger of the car is hospitalized in critical condition, as is the driver of the other vehicle involved.
Affected by this tragedy, filming was stopped for a few days and resumed April 29. On this occasion, the actress Élodie Fontan, who plays Laure, publishes a touching message on Instagram. Upon its theatrical release, the film is dedicated to the victims of this fatal accident.
