Canal+: great cinema to discover in April

After a month of March already full of new films, Canal+ subscribers will also be spoiled with many recent films in April 2024. So after that Oppenheimeradded to the platform on March 22, these are the other films that made 2023 and will soon be available in your living room.

Available from April 2nd The Goldman trial by Cédric Kahn, is the other great test film of the year 2023, with Anatomy of a fall. Somewhat overshadowed by the latter and its avalanche of (well-deserved) awards, it still remains one of the greatest French films of last year. Nominated eight times for the César, the feature film tells the true story of the trial of Pierre Goldman, famous activist and bandit of the 60s and 70s. The main role is played by Arieh Worthalter, winner of the César for best actor last February.

The plot takes place in France in the near future where some humans have started turning into animals. These mutants are ostracized by society and treated like victims of the plague. It is in this scenario that a man sets out in search of his wife, who is also a mutant and studied in a specialized center. In the company of her son (played by Paul Kircher), he will do everything to find her, and will try to understand this mutation that affects a large part of the population.

The latest Scorsese is coming soon

Another great piece of cinema expected this April on Canal+: The assassins of the Flower MoonMartin Scorsese’s latest film, with Leonardo DiCaprio, Lily Gladstone and Robert de Niro.

The plot takes place at the beginning of the 20th century, within the Osage tribe, a community of Native Americans who, after discovering oil in their lands, experience a period of unexpected prosperity. However, their wealth attracts greed and corruption. Tribe members begin to be mysteriously murdered, sparking concern and outrage within the community.

To investigate these murders, the federal government calls on the brand new FBI, led by Agent Tom White (Jesse Plemons). The latter joins forces with a local investigator, Ernest Burkhart (Leonardo DiCaprio), husband of Mollie Burkhart (Lily Gladstone), a member of the Osage tribe.

A Dantesque cinematic fresco brought forward by an XXL cast, which should delight cinema lovers who haven’t had the chance to discover it on the big screen.
