It’s time for reboots, revivals and spin-offs and the return of surprisingly he is one of those who received a lot of love from fans. Star Miranda Cosgrove now explains why she ultimately said yes to Carly Shay’s return ten years after the finale, despite some initial doubts about the idea.
After the launch of Paramount + in new territory, the former Nickelodeon star has spoken Variety all on surprisingly. With the original show ending in 2012, Miranda Cosgrove talked about how long it had been since she and her co-stars were initially asked to return and what prompted them to finally decide to say “yes”. She said:
To be completely honest, when I was first asked about the possibility of returning, all the first conversations about it started a few years ago. And I was like, ‘No, we never will.’ And I called Jerry [Trainor] and Nathan [Kress] and they said, ‘No, we shouldn’t do this.’ And then we keep talking about it. And we got the idea that since we’re adults now, and all the people who saw the show originally were kids who grew up and are now adults like us, we thought, ‘Why shouldn’t we do the show? for them? ? ‘ These are the people who loved the show originally and that’s really what it is for.
New surprisingly being aimed at adults is definitely one of the reasons it’s doing so well. The kids who grew up watching the original series on Nickelodeon are between the ages of 20 and 30, so growing the characters and dealing with typical adult situations, like alcohol, sex, relationships, etc., is fantastic.
Miranda Cosgrove continued to praise the direction the show took. With the show exploring more adult situations for the characters, cast and fans, the revival is a fresh take on a familiar premise that had plenty of viewers at the time. She explained how the creation of the show for Nickelodeon’s adult fans inspired them, saying:
He really gave us a lot of guidance after realizing we were all aboard and wanted to do it. And then it started to be really fun, because then we start having ideas and thinking, we can do things. [based on] the things that happen to us in real life and the things we go through as adults. So this new version is really about people in their twenties, navigating life and trying to figure out what to do.
as a fan of surprisingly From inception when I was 10, I’m now 20 and watching the new series, there’s a good mix between the adult stories and the occasional tacky moments that make you miss the early 2000s. In fact, the success of surprisingly I wonder what it would have been like if another show from the early 2000s received the expected reboot treatment.
Although not from Nickelodeon, a fan of the popular Disney Channel series from the early 2000s lizzie mcguire they themselves have almost had a rebirth. The show would follow star Hilary Duff around the Big Apple when she was just over 30, navigating her life and relationships. Unfortunately, due to creative differences, including Duff’s desire to move the show to Hulu for more mature themes, the series never saw the light. Since then, the show has remained in limbo, but there is still hope that it will return. Yes surprisingly it can, because it cannot Geneva?
There is no news of a third season of surprisingly, but after “Creddie” cliffhanger in the Season 2 finale in early June, it would be pretty hard to stick with that without closures. But in the meantime, the six seasons of the original surprisinglyas well as both seasons of the revival, they are available to stream on Paramount + with a subscription.
