Carlos Sadness presents “Magical Realism”, his new and fifth album

Carlos Sadness is an icon of Spanish indie pop. His career is based on successes in Spain and Latin America; His music is understood from a unique style that no one can reproduce and that the Barcelona artist has been able to evolve over the years.

From “Qué Electricidad”, this independent hit with an international sound that took him to all the festivals and which continues to be played, through the viral collaboration in Latin America “Amor Papaya” (2017) until his latest latest album, “Tropical Jesús” (2020), where he has the greatest number of plays, Carlos Sadness has always found a way to shine.

And today comes the time to do it with “Magical Realism”, their new albumwhich represents another step on the path to Carlos Sadness.

“Magical Realism” (of which we already know the advances like “Lo Que Fuera”, with Ximena Sariñana or the success of “Feliz Feliz”, which is already playing on hundreds of rolls) is a sophisticated evolution which returns to its own identity and forward at the same time.

Finding magic in the middle of reality is the goal of this album. This is why he delves into concepts that can save us from a world where everything is consumed quickly, such as kindness, tenderness or empathy.

All this guided by the common thread of several stars who appear at key moments and who preside over the cover and the sleeve of the album, illustrated by Carlos Sadness himself. The most attentive listener will discover these elements throughout each song on the album and will travel through soundscapes, sometimes heavenly, sometimes desertic, always under the gaze of the stars.

Carlos Tristesse’s good times and his international recognition were confirmed by three stellar collaborations that elevate the album to the next level: Ximena Sariñana, Carla Morrison and Melissa Robles.
