Gladiator 2 : Lucius introduces himself
This year, 24 years after the monument Gladiatorwe will be able to discover the sequel, Gladiator 2, which promises to be an event. Filming finished in January 2024 and the film is scheduled to be released in French theaters from November 13, 2024. While waiting for a first trailer, which shouldn’t take too long, we can find out today Paolo Mescalmain role of Gladiator 2, in his character. An already famous armour…
Gladiator 2 is the direct sequel to Gladiator, some twenty years after the events that made it happen the legend of Massimo. In this new film we will follow Lucius, who turns out to be the son of Maximus and Lucilla (Connie Nielsen). The latter, a great admirer of Massimo’s career, will be at the center of power conflicts in a Rome torn apart by the fratricidal clash of the two co-emperors Caracalla (Joseph Quinn) and Geta (Fred Hechinger).
You can’t see many things in these two images, but one element in particular stands out. It appears that the armor worn by Lucius is same as that of Massimo. In fact, we recognize the black breastplate decorated with two horses that Massimo is wearing Gladiator, and who he introduces to young Lucius in the first film, as he prepares to fight in the Colosseum arena. During this first meeting, Maximus explains to him that the two horses presented on his armor are I snap AND Silverhis horses that were taken away from him…
It therefore seems that Lucio, in Gladiator 2, recovered Maximus’ armor. A symbol to signify that she is truly Massimo’s heir, and that he will thus continue his fight and carry forward his values in this highly anticipated sequel…
