Chico turns 80 next week, and makes a special appearance in the series to celebrate his birthday

Chico Buarque turns 80 next Wednesday, June 19th, and in celebration of his birthday, the artist will make a special appearance in the series ‘On the Sound Trail’in the channel Like! which will have the episode on the 17th dedicated to him.

In the episode, Chico recalls some of his stories and works carried out throughout his career, he says that he began his career in music by being invited to produce soundtracks for films, when he was still an architecture student, he made instrumental tracks for the film “The Killer Angel”in Dionísio Azevedo and after that it didn’t stop.

“I went to make music for films because they invited me. In fact, I didn’t (at that time) write music for cinema; I made songs […] I had that youthful enthusiasm. I thought I could do that and I did. How I did it for a play José Celso Martinez Corrêait was an instrumental theme.”

Buarque He also talks about his motivation to create the soundtracks for the productions, and they were the filmed images or for those who would have to compose, about the pleasure of seeing his work being performed “The click that took place was on top of the images”.
