A new MCU with something old?
Deadpool and Wolverine It hasn’t been released in American theaters yet as it already has Kevin FeigeMCU designer and president of Marvel Studios is already learning lessons from this. With very positive initial feedback and very high projections for its first weekend of release in the US and around the world, the big boss Marvel movies can breathe and hope that the film starring Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman brings its MCU out of limbo.

If the success is still to be counted and can therefore be fully appreciated in a few weeks, Kevin Feige already knows that he has succeeded in an important challenge: bringing back Wolverine without affecting the beautiful legacy left behind Logan in 2017in which the clawed superhero would have died. An achievement in itself, given the extreme popularity of the character and his interpreter, as well as the warm reception given to Hugh Jackman’s performance in Deadpool and Wolverine.
But also a good hint at a future that the MCU writers are thinking about. Wolverine managed to return and thus facilitates the official integration of the X-Men franchise into the connected Marvel Universe. But more importantly, if he had returned from the dead… then maybe Tony Stark that is to say Iron Man can do the same.
Hugh Jackman shows the way to Robert Downey Jr. and Chris Evans.
This is essentially what Kevin Feige said in an interview with DiscussingFilm, in response to the question of whether it is possible Return of Iron Man and Robert Downey Jr. was considered in his armor. But also that of Chris Evans, who eventually retired from the role of Captain AmericaAvengers: Endgame.
That’s the whole point (to get them back), right? How do we do it while preserving what’s been done before, and do it in the best way possible? You know, we just spent over two years working on this for Wolverine. So what’s going to happen? We’ll see. We’re just proud to have pulled off, I think, the return of Wolverine. I think Hugh’s presence and performance in “Deadpool & Wolverine” is a sign that it can be done. As long as it’s done really well.
Relaunched in a positive cycle by Deadpool and Wolverinewill the MCU, as it did with former Spider-Man actors, be able to convince Robert Downey Jr. and Chris Evans to don the superhero tights again? The latest news is that the Tony Stark actor liked the idea…
