Guillermo del Toro is currently working on Frankenstein, starring Oscar Isaac, Jacob Elordi, Christoph Waltz and Mia Goth.
Director of hits like Pan’s Labyrinth (2006), The Shape of Water (2017), Hellboy (2004) and Circle of Fire (2013), William del Toro currently works in Frankensteinstarring Oscar Isaac, Jacob Elordi, Christoph Waltz and Mia Goth. In a series of posts on the internet, the filmmaker commented on how he stayed in a “haunted” hotel while filming was taking place.
On Twitter, currently known as X, the 59-year-old Mexican director spoke a little about the behind-the-scenes of the adaptation of Frankensteinbook written by Mary Shelley and released in 1818. Whenever he works outside the home, his obsession with ghosts becomes even stronger.
“While in AberdeenI will be staying at an old hotel from the 1800s. I am in the Most Haunted Room – which was vacated this morning by one of our producers. Strange electrical and physical occurrences scared her into leaving as quickly as possible,” he wrote. “Stay tuned – if anything happens, I will report it.”
I always stay in the ‘most haunted rooms’, but only once have I experienced anything supernatural – the rest of the time: nothing. I have high hopes.
Later, William del Toro posted an update on the case: “I can only say: nothing has happened yet, but the atmosphere in the room is oppressive and I won’t be spending much more time there. It may be a suggestion, but at this point I’ve kept it, but I’m sleeping in another room – I need six hours of sleep to have a good day of filming – I’ll be there early and late in the day – but something is in that room with me…”
Finally, the artist commented how he should bring one or two more updates, even if something happens or not. See below:
