Stranger Things producers posted a video of Joseph Quinn rehearsing his scenes; watch
The producers of Stranger Things,Matt and Ross Duffer published a behind-the-scenes video of the series in which Joseph Quinn (Eddie) appears rehearsing “Master of Puppets” on guitar.
Quinn has been playing guitar since he was young and has practiced for months to play the classic song by Metallicahowever, the actor stated to the Radio Times who did not perform the solo parts and the team hired a professional guitarist for the cuts.
In the scene in question, Eddie Munson (Joseph Quinn) needs to distract the monsters of the Upside Down with his guitar, and on the side, we see Dustin (Gaten Matarazzo) excited about the track. The guitar solo continues during the cut of other characters maintaining a frantic breakout rhythm during the scene.
The sky behind the characters turns red, perhaps a reference to the cover of the album of the same name. Master of Puppets (1986). Once the performance is over, the duo descends from the trailer and Dustin says, “Dude. The best. Metal. EVER.”
Metallica was dazzled by the scene and wrote on Instagram:
“We were all excited to see the final result, and when we saw it, we were totally blown away… it’s so well done, so much so that some people were able to guess the song just by seeing the hands of Joseph Quinn [Eddie em Stranger Things] on guitar” Metallica continued in their post. “How crazy is that?”
