City of God: The Fight Does Not Stop is renewed for a 2nd season

The new film continues the story of Fernando Meirelles’ feature film, which was nominated for four categories at the Oscars in 2004

Just days after the premiere of City of God: The Fight Doesn’t StopMax announced, this Friday (30), the renewal of the series derived from City of Goda successful 2002 film, for a second season.

“We’re just at the beginning, but we guarantee that the story will continue! SEASON TWO of City of God is CONFIRMED!”says the ad. Check it out:

What is the story of City of God: The Fight Doesn’t Stop?

An adapted sequel to the literary work of Paulo Linsthe series is set in the early 2000s, when a young drug dealer’s release from prison puts Cidade de Deus in a new dispute. After the event, the residents find themselves cornered between drug dealers, militia and government authorities, but the need to escape this cycle makes the community unite to face the oppressors.

Alexandre Rodrigues (Buscapé), Roberta Rodrigues (Berenice), Thiago Martins (Lamp), Sabrina Rose (Cynthia), Kiko Marques (Big head) and Edson Oliveira (Little string) are back in City of God: The Fight Doesn’t Stop.

The series’ cast also includes Andreia Horta (Elis: Living is Better than Dreaming), Marcos Palmeira (Reborn), Eli Ferreira (Backlands Sea), Luellem de Castro (Enchanted’s), Jefferson Brazil (Any Day), Octavio Linhares (Jesus Kid), Rafael Lozano (Route 66), Leandro Daniel (Every Day the Same Night) and Luiz Bertazzo (Alice Junior).
