What is the story of Queen Woo?
Queen Woo tells the story of the widowed queen Woo Hee (Jun Jong-Seo), who marries one of the king’s brothers Go Nam-mu (Ji Chang-Wook), after her husband dies before leaving heirs to the throne. Unlike other productions of the genre, the new film presents a plot focused on bloody wars and political disputes, inspired by a turbulent period in South Korea’s past, leaving love and romance in the background.

With only four episodes released so far — Part 2 arrives on TVING streaming service on September 12 —internet users have criticized, mainly, the nude scenes, considered appealing.
“Why did they choose to film the shaman’s possession scene in such a suggestive way instead of focusing on Queen Woo? What was the point of the scene where we see a bare chest? The purpose is obvious and it’s really annoying”said an X user, who remains banned in Brazil [via Purepeople].
“The story is not completely uninteresting, but every time it becomes captivating, inappropriate scenes ruin the immersion. The full nude and sex scenes with the actresses are superfluous and do not add anything positive; they just make the show uncomfortable”another would have opined.

Cancelled or not, Queen Woo has caught the attention of viewers. However, if you are also curious to check out the new film, the news is not good: unfortunately, the production, which premiered on August 29 in South Korea, still has no release date set for Brazil.
