Office 749 : Big Monsters from China
Non-American blockbusters are unfortunately too rare in French cinemas. There are certainly Bollywood productions that are released in a handful of theaters each week, with works that sometimes stand out from the crowd, such as RRR (2022). And in recent weeks we have been able to see two Asian films that have amazed us: the Korean film Alienoid: The Showdown and the Chinese film Creation of the Gods. Even if these productions are not shown in hundreds of French theaters, unlike Hollywood works, we are always ready to support these proposals from elsewhere, which generally offer a breath of fresh air and a feeling of novelty. We also hope that a French distributor will be interested Office 749an upcoming Chinese movie that I just neededa 15 second teaser impress.
15 seconds during which we witness a sort of large blue-tongued bird capture a man, before another soldier arrives to impale the animal by sticking a blade in its neck. So we wonder what the next crazy thing will be. Is it a pure action film or should we expect a more comical element? From what we know, Office 749 will follow a young man hired by a mysterious anti-crime bureau. Unknown creatures will then appear all over the world and cause disasters. It will be the bureau’s job to arrest them.

When to see the movie?
We have to Office 749 to director Lu Chuan, who had already staged large-scale creatures Chronicles of the Spirit Realm (2015). 749 Bureau would also be set in the same universe. Lu Chuan also directed the war film City of Life and Death (2009). If these films will not speak to the general French public, know however that the filmmaker was responsible for the official film of the Beijing Winter Olympics 2022. Finally, Office 749filmed in 2019, has at least an expected release date in China : next October 1st. If successful, we hope that the French market will be interested. Whether it is a theatrical release or, ultimately, streaming.
