Netflix: “Monsters” Season 3 Coming Soon

Netflix continues to explore the world of America’s most infamous criminals with a new season of its anthology Monsters. After the phenomenal success of Dahmer and the imminent arrival this Thursday, September 19 of the second season dedicated to the Menendez brothers, the streaming platform is preparing to unveil a third season focused on Ed Gein, one of the most emblematic serial killers in the United States.

Who was Ed Gein?

Ed Gein, nicknamed the “Butcher of Plainfield”, is one of the most famous criminals of the 20th century, whose actions inspired several famous horror movie charactersin particular Norman Bates in PsychosisLeatherface inside Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Buffalo Bill inside The Silence of the LambsBorn in 1906 in Wisconsin, Gein grew up under the influence of his mother, a domineering and very pious woman, who isolated him from the outside world. After her death, Gein sank into madness and his crimes shocked all of America.

Although he was only officially convicted of two murders, the horror of his actions is unbelievable. When he was arrested in 1957, police discovered a macabre collection in his home objects made from human bodies found in cemeteries, including masks, furniture and clothing. Ed Gein has thus marked the criminal history of the United States as one of the most disturbing and disturbing killers of his time.

Charlie Hunnam to Play ‘The Butcher of Plainfield’

To play this terrifying character, Netflix has chosen British actor Charlie Hunnam.
