Zendaya says she doesn’t know if she was ‘made’ to be famous; understand

One of the main actresses of the generation, Zendaya doesn’t seem to deal very well with fame, and explained how she doesn’t know if she was “made” to be famous. Before starring in films like Rivals (2024) and Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021), she even had a career as a singer.

In event of Dune 2 (via NME), the cast participated in a Q&A session. At one point, the actors were asked if they see any similarities between the warnings of followers of the messianic cult portrayed in the film and the state of modern celebrity fans.

“I feel like a lot of times I’m not prepared for that part. I love my job, I’m very grateful. I love doing the work, I love being on set, I love moments like this — don’t get me wrong — but I dread that part a lot of times,” she said. Zendaya.

“I was a shy kid, I always have been, so that part of it doesn’t come naturally — that’s a big reason why fashion became important to me, because it became this armor to pretend that I was going to go out and do the work,” the 28-year-old artist continued.

So, I don’t know if I can fully relate as well, but I definitely understand what you’re saying, and that’s scary to me.

“I would like to be a person and have people see me as that first. I don’t necessarily know if I want to or can handle all of that, or I want to [aquilo] — some people think that’s part of it, they like the power that comes from it, and I don’t know if that’s for me,” he concluded.
