Southern California’s Knott’s Berry Farm theme park closed Saturday night, with the company citing “unruly behavior” and an altercation between teenage guests.
The park, located in Buena Park, Calif., in Orange County, was trending on social media on Saturday amid reports of closure. Knott’s official Twitter then posted a message Problem review, consideration.
“The safety of Knott’s Berry Farm guests and associates is always our top priority,” the statement said. “On Saturday night, the decision was made to close the park 3 hours in advance due to the disorderly behavior and disturbance of some teenagers. This behavior was not consistent with our park values and was not the experience we want any guest to have when visiting Knott’s Berry Farm.
In a message shared on social media, the Buena Park Police Department said “several fights in the park” were to blame for the closure. The person who called 911 reported hearing gunshots, but officers determined that no shots were fired, according to the report. However, the police advised to stay away from the area for the time being.
Knott’s Berry Farm was scheduled to reopen on Sunday, according to its social media post.
