There was a long time, working on the show, where we didn’t even deal with each other off camera,” he said. “And there was a lot of tension. Which didn’t matter, apparently, for work, because we’re both crazy as hell, I guess. We could just go out and do what we needed to do.”

Right away, Anderson agreed with the actor, “That’s kind of crazy. I mean, it’s crazy that we were able to present on camera, you know, the various feelings and emotions and attraction and all that kind of stuff, but then not talk to each other for weeks on end.”

“Because we’re, like, guarding it. I don’t know. But I could have behaved better, you know? And as you know, we went through a bit of a crazy process with this thing,” he added. David Duchovny. “We went from – I mean, I was really inexperienced. You were really inexperienced. And suddenly… It was like a global phenomenon before the Internet. And we’re just running around, trying to figure out who we are.”
