Bob Odenkirk suffered a heart attack on the set of Better Call Saul in July 2021 – but is currently recovering
Several fans of Better Call Saul were concerned about the health of Bob Odenkirk after the actor suffered a heart attack while filming the sixth and final season of the spin-off of breaking bad. Now fully recovered, the interpreter of Saul Goodman/Jimmy McGill revealed which episode he was filming when he had the incident.
odenkirk recalled that day during an interview with The Hollywood Reporter and commented on how the footage was of “Fun and Games,” ninth episode of the season that arrives next Tuesday, 19, on Netflix Brazilian. “I was away from filming for five weeks. I used the time to recover.”
“Everyone took care of me, and if I’m lucky, you won’t notice the difference between what I filmed before and after the heart attack. The scene airs next week. A little bit was shot the day before, another the day of heart attack, and the rest when I returned,” the actor concluded in the conversation.

Bob Odenkirk recalls heart attack while filming Better Call Saul: ‘I just collapsed’
Bob Odenkirkstar of Better Call Saul (2015), suffered a heart attack on the set of the series in July 2021. The actor spoke about what happened to The New York Times (via Yahoo) and claimed to have no memories, but collected reports from colleagues.
“We filmed all day and luckily I didn’t go back to my trailer. I went to work out on a stationary bike and just collapsed. Rhea Seehorn [intérprete de Kim Wexler] said I immediately turned blue,” he explained. The actor recalled how the presence of Patrick Fabian and Seehorn kept him alive, as he had immediate help.
Furthermore, odenkirk had been aware of heart problems since 2018: “I had this buildup of fatty plaques in my heart. I went to two cardiologists and had contrast tests and MRIs, and the doctors disagreed,” he said. The actor followed the advice not to take medication at first.
After three attempts with automatic defibrillator, the heart of bob returned to normal. He was then taken to Albuquerque Presbyterian Hospital, where he received treatment for the accumulated fat. The actor needed a week of recovery and returned to the set in September.
