Brian Cox reveals which ‘Succession’ son he would spend Christmas with

The actor starred in the four-season series as Logan Roy

Brian Cox decided who he would spend the holidays with if his children were the same as Logan Roy, the character he plays in Succession.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter (via People), he reflected on his career and role on the four-season series. About the fictitious son with whom he would spend every Christmas, Cox said, “It would have to be Kieran Culkin [Roman Roy]”.

“This kid has been through so much with his family situation. And he’s a consummate actor. He really is. And it showed. He was so nervous when we started the show. I’ve just watched him grow over time and I have enormous respect for He is a very talented, funny and very sweet actor”, he explained.

He continued: “Sarah Snook [Siobhan ‘Shiv’ Roy] would be in second place.” The actor did not mention Jeremy Strongwho played Kendall Roy, nor Alan Ruckwho played Connor Roy.

Relationship with Jeremy Strong

Apparently, the main actors of Successioninterpreters of characters who are relatives, are not that close behind the scenes. Although, Jeremy Strong (Kendall Roy) defended Brian Cox (Logan Roy), responsible for criticizing his method of acting, after controversy.

During an interview with GQ which became a big profile, Strong was asked about an interview with Coxwhen he controversially criticized the method, a style in which actors embody the characters even with the cameras off.

“Everyone has the right to have their feelings and opinions,” said the actor in the conversation. “I also think that Brian Coxfor example, has already earned the right to say whatever the hell he wants. There is no longer any need to comment on what he said or try to do damage control afterwards.”

I feel a lot of love for my brothers and parents on the show, and it’s a family in the sense that, and I’m sure they would do the same, you don’t have to like the people you love, and I always respect them.

“Am I going to adjust or compromise something like I’ve worked for my whole life and what I believe in? I have no doubt about the answer,” he continued. “I’m going to keep doing whatever I need to do to deliver whatever it takes.”

What did Brian Cox say about Jeremy Strong’s method acting?

76-year-old Scottish actor, Brian Cox spoke about the method of action of Jeremy Strong on two occasions. In an interview with Town&Countrythe artist criticized the way his co-star works, but recognized his talent.

“He’s a great actor. And the rest of the cast is fine with that. But knowing a character and what they do is just part of the skill set,” he said. “He’s still that guy, because he feels like if he went somewhere else, he would lose control. But he won’t!”

Strong is talented. He is gifted. When you have the gift, celebrate the gift. Go back to your trailer and take a hit of weed, you know?

In another profile New Yorker, Brian Cox also addressed the method. “It’s a particularly American disease, I think, this inability to separate yourself while you’re doing the work.” Furthermore, on another occasion, the actor opined how “there is a certain pain at the root of Jeremyand I just feel for this pain.”
