Ad Vitam: An exciting action film directed by Guillaume Canet

In Ad VitamGuillaume Canet plays Franck Lazareff, a former GIGN member who lives peacefully with his pregnant wife, Léo (played by Stéphane Caillard). Their tranquility is abruptly interrupted when a criminal organization linked to Franck’s past, he breaks into their house and kidnaps Léo. To save his wife, Franck is forced to obey the orders of this small group, embarking on a race against time together with his friend Ben (Nassim Lyes).

The film stands out for its intense action scenes and its palpable tension that recall the classics of the genre while paying homage to emblematic figures of French cinema, in particular Jean-Paul Belmondo.

Added to Netflix worldwide this Friday January 10, Ad Vitam has already risen to the first place on the podium throughout the planet, as demonstrated by the specialized site Flixpatrol. The film is obviously in first position on Netflix France, just ahead of this recent much criticized horror feature.

This new triumph is part of a series of recent successes of French cinema on Netflix. Among them, Under the Seinereleased in June 2024, it made history by becoming the first French film to top 100 million views on the platform. It’s now Netflix’s second biggest non-English-language hit of all time.
