Without a doubt, Kim Kardashian has been making some pretty bold (and slightly bizarre) fashion choices lately. She has never been boring with choices like her revealing / gravity defying dress, leather bodysuits and head-to-toe fetish masks, and now she’s invented another wild new trend via her SKIMS brand, but this one will be difficult not for me: bath gloves.
Yes, they are called “bath gloves”. The Hulu star is selling these nylon / spandex gloves that you can (theoretically) wear to the beach in seven different colors for $ 48 a pop on SKIMS (opens in a new tab). Check out the pink roses below, which are eerily reminiscent of Kim Kardashian’s masterpieces SNL monologue dress:

You may be wondering what these underwater ballroom accessories do? Well, just that, apparently: accessorize. The description of the item on the site suggests that “they will instantly enhance your bathroom look”. It also claims that the wearer will make a “sexy touch”.
Let’s stop there, because there’s no way an inverted peasant tan can do a “sexy touch”. I mean, in my name at least, that’s what has to happen myself if I wanted to lead this new trend in the pool or on the beach. And just to give an example, we don’t even see Kim Kardashian on vacation with Pete Davidson wearing her product, do we? I put my file down.
Sadly, however, rule-breaking fashion is what Kim Kardashian seeks and why she even won the Fashion Icon Award at the 2022 People’s Choice Awards. In recent months she has pushed boundaries with her style, to include layering. of different designer names and show what can only be described like tights. Some say it’s how the 41-year-old lost her previous Kanye West influences on her wardrobe after their split, which she also admitted in season one of the kardashians. But I say that the billionaire elite can keep their bath gloves and tights (and the embarrassing summer tan marks they will produce).
However, we have to hand it over to the TV personality for his business acumen. At the time of this writing, SKIMS bath gloves are actually out of stock in all sizes for four of the colors to choose from. So obviously someone (not me) is buying what this trend is selling. Additionally, Kim Kardashian is taking other steps, such as updating the design of his leotard collection (thanks to complaints from Khloe Kardashian) and rebranding her skin care product line. (The latter has already been the subject of a trademark infringement lawsuit.)
I’ll keep my eyes peeled to see when Kim Kardashian wears bathing gloves in season two of kardashian – which will air on September 22 for Hulu subscribers. But until then, thank goodness for the bronzer.
