William Shatner caused a stir at San Diego Comic-Con when he said it star Trek creator Gene Roddenberry would “turn in the grave” due to some of the novelties happening in the latest productions. Fans, and even new show stars like Melissa Navia, had something to say about Shatner. Now the talk continues, as Roddenberry’s son Rod has shared how he thinks his father would feel. strange new worlds.
It was during an interview with rant on the screen which Rod Roddenberry took the time to discuss star Trek and give his opinion on how his father would feel strange new worlds. And the comments on the show sounded far more optimistic than those shared by William Shatner:
I think he would be very proud of it. I think one thing that surprised me a little bit is how unique each episode of Strange New Worlds is. I am impressed that they do. I was a little surprised at first, because we have funny episodes, or at least funny moments. And those things that I initially said while reading the scripts that I don’t know how they will turn out. I don’t know how the public will receive it. But they succeeded. And the fans are going crazy. And I’m so proud of all the creators. They did a great job with Strange New Worlds. And I’m thrilled for them.
Star Trek: Strange New Worlds gets an A + from Rod Roddenberry and thinks his late father would have liked it too. I have no doubt that his opinion will carry a lot of weight among fans, although it should be noted that as the show’s executive producer, Roddenberry may be somewhat biased. The producer also told Gossipify about a year ago sees Gene in each Emigrate modern shows so you might think he feels the same for the other current series.
For his part, young Roddenberry spent a lot of time examining his father’s life while working on the documentary. hiking nation. I’m sure William Shatner and Roddenberry have valid points on the late producer, as they both knew him quite well. But at the end of the day, no one can honestly say with 100% certainty what they would think of the franchise today, as their views on the franchise varied from project to project.
For example, Gene Roddenberry was not good at some star Trek projects that fans love, like the wrath of khan Yes Deep Space Nine (for which Alex Kurtzman recently tackled stimulus packages). That said, there may be at least a few things about modern shows that you may not be a fan of.
However, whether or not William Shatner is an authority on the matter is another story. After all, Shatner directed 1989 the last frontier – a movie that Gene Roddenberry didn’t like. So it would appear that they too had their own creative disagreements when it came to it Emigrate.
Rod Roddenberry’s statement is just another take to add to the mix, because star Trek fans are waiting for more content to arrive, including lower covers Season 3 (which can be streamed with a Paramount + subscription). I’m sure there are many out there who are willing to step away from this talk and more content should distract those who try to do so.
Star Trek: Lower Decks Season 3 will premiere on Paramount + on Thursday, August 25. And, of course, if you want to make a decision about it strange new worlds, you can also broadcast it on the platform. Keep an eye out for others to come star Trek upcoming shows in the near future.
