Peter Jackson had hoped to receive a script for the Rings of Power episodes, but was ignored
Peter Jacksondirector of the trilogy of Lord of the Ringsdid not participate in the creative process of the series The Rings of Power, from the same universe. As he revealed to The Hollywood Reporter (via NME), received an invitation from the production to collaborate, but was ignored when he asked to read the scripts.
Despite the peculiar situation, Jackson does not feel any regrets, and stated that he will attend the production of Prime Video. “They asked me if I wanted to get involved, and I replied, ‘It’s impossible to say without reading some script,'” she explained.
“So I was told, ‘Once we have the first scripts, we’ll send them to you. And they never came. That was the last news I had, and that’s fine. I have no complaints,” he continued.
“When someone makes a good movie or series, it’s something to celebrate. I always try to watch it as a neutral spectator,” he added. Jackson.
In response to the director’s statement, the Amazon Studios issued a statement: “In pursuing the rights to the series, we were obliged to keep the production separate and different from the films. We have a lot of respect for Peter Jackson and by the films of Lord of the Rings. We are excited that he intends to attend The Rings of Power.”
The series is set to premiere on September 2.
