The original Predator actor responds to Hulu’s prey

The fifth installment of Predator series, Prey takes the sci-fi horror franchise back in time, setting the action years before the events of its predecessors. The new release, which is among the best movies on Hulu right now, has been welcomed by critics, with the film’s star, Amber Midthunder, at the center of it all. Now a particular actor from the 1987 original. the film shared some thoughts on the production and didn’t hold back.

Predator Fans will most likely remember Bill Duke for the role of Sergeant “Mac” Eliot, who was part of the private military team that tracked down the technologically advanced alien owner. in one Twitter post, the 79-year-old actor and director praised Hulu’s action movie and welcomed actress Amber Midthunder into the franchise’s family:

Prey centers on the Comanche nation in 1719, during which a skilled young warrior protects her tribe from a highly evolved human predator who takes down humans for sport. A true member of the Fort Peck Sioux tribe, Amber Midthunder was perfect for the lead role of Naru, but obviously, her inheritance from her alone isn’t what made her the right choice. When her Midthunder auditioned, director Dan Trachtenberg felt he had an incredible ability to say so much with so little dialogue and that he could convey the weight of the story through her physical her. Arnold Schwarzenegger may have been the leader of the original film, but Naru also overcomes the sexism in his tribe as he becomes entangled with the dangerous creature that threatens his home. He adds another interesting layer to your story.

As mentioned, Bill Duke is far from the only person who praised the Roswell, New Mexico alum and the film itself. Critics keep talking about Amber Midthuner. Gossipify’s review of Prey he also praised the actress and noted the compelling development of the character throughout the film. Other reviewers felt that Midthunder did a great job with her stunts and brought a great level of authenticity to her character. While the Native American actress may not be new to the industry, it looks like this film will really put her on her map.

The film currently has a 92% critical rating on Rotten Tomatoes with an audience score of 81%. Social media reactions to the news Predator the film was also incredibly positive. Many took to Twitter and called it the best of the series, with some even claiming it surpassed the original. Many seemed to particularly enjoy the main action sequences and compelling characters. And of course, many people agreed it was a great performance for its leader.
